Your partner in workplace solutions.

Over the past two decades, Shaye Schrick has litigated multiple cases from inception through trial and appeal. In doing so, she has established herself as a leader in California employment law.

Through her practice, Shaye has also come to understand and appreciate the impact workplace disputes have on businesses and their employees. Recognizing that companies are most likely to succeed when their employees are engaged and feel part of a team, and that there are rarely true "winners" in litigation, Shaye harnesses her experience and structures practical solutions to complex problems before they result in costly litigation.

Shaye works closely with employers of all sizes to:

  • Craft policies, procedures, and practices that evolve with the changing climate of California and federal employment laws;

  • Improve systems of performance management;

  • Provide guidance in the interactive process to collaboratively respond to requests for reasonable accommodation and productively manage their implementation;

  • Create strategies for management of employee leaves of absence; and

  • Provide common sense solutions to address California's complex wage and hour laws.

Shaye also conducts workplace investigations and employment practice audits, prepares employment-related agreements, and presents training to leaders, front-line supervisors, and employees on a variety of topics.

Shaye has taught legal courses at both the University of California at Davis School of Law (Legal Writing) and the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law (Employment Law), taught English as a second language to school children in Spain, and is an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI-CH). Shaye currently serves as a Director and Officer (Secretary) of the Northern California Employment Round Table, which works in conjunction with the California Civil Rights Department to provide presentations on a variety of employment law topics.

Shaye has been selected to the Northern California Super Lawyers list for employment & labor/employment litigation each year since 2012 (selected to Rising Stars list 2012-2017, selected to Super Lawyers list 2018-Present).

Shaye received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California at Davis and studied Spanish at the Universidad del Pais Vasco in San Sebastian, Spain.
